Description
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
2‑Day Course • 6 CPD Hours Available Upon Request
This certification is required for anyone performing tests on freshly mixed concrete. Industry standards ASTM C31, ASTM C94, and ACI 301 require technicians who make and cure concrete test specimens for acceptance to be ACI certified.
Ohio Concrete offers a full one‑day review session, followed by the written and performance exams on day two.
Written Exam
1-hour, closed book
55 multiple‑choice questions
Must score 60%+ on each test method and 70% overall
Performance Exam
Candidates must demonstrate six required test methods
Must verbally describe Practice C172/C172M
Evaluation is based on correct performance of all steps
Certification
Exams are scored by ACI. Certification is valid for 5 years and requires retesting of both exams for renewal.
