Davidson Retirement

John Davidson Retirement

After a long and successful career advocating for the concrete industry, John Davidson, Ohio Concrete SW Promotion Director, officially retired from his position with Ohio Concrete in October of 2020. Due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of many Association events including the Annual Meeting this past year, we were unable to celebrate John’s retirement in our traditional fashion.

In keeping with tradition, we are asking for donations from our members to present John with a monetary gift to show our appreciation for his years of service to the concrete construction industry.

 About John

John Davidson has been in the concrete industry since 1969. He was appointed as Ohio Concrete SW Promotion Director in 2008. Since that time, John has been instrumental in the promotion of concrete usage for our members and affiliate companies. His territory covers a seventeen county region in SW Ohio and provides services to over thirty-six Ohio Concrete member companies. He also promotes in ten counties in Northern Kentucky and four counties in Indiana.

Prior to joining Ohio Concrete, John was the Executive Director of the Concrete Promotion Council of Southwest Ohio (CPCSO) since the inception of the organization in 1996. As Executive Director of CPCSO, John directed the promotion of concrete throughout a ten county area comprising Southwest Ohio focusing on exterior flatwork and the “sustainable development” concept promoted by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Prior to his tenure with the CPCSO, he was involved with the concrete industry through his employment with Master Builders (chemical admixtures), Lafarge (Fly Ash) and Levy, Inc. in Michigan.

His Levy affiliation placed him as the sales manager for one of the larger asphalt companies in Michigan. Levy was also owner of the largest ready mix company in the state at that time. During that term he was involved in both the concrete and asphalt segments of the business.

John has achieved numerous concrete certifications in several states. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Concrete Institute, the Northern Kentucky Concrete Promotion Council and the American Society of Highway Engineers. He is also a member of the USGBC and APWA local chapters.

John has been a true asset to not only Ohio Concrete and its members, but the overall concrete construction industry in SW Ohio and surrounding area as a whole. We look forward to celebrating John’s retirement at the the 83rd Annual Meeting. Click Here for further meeting details.
