Job description:
The Ready Mix Concrete Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that concrete production
meets company and industry quality standards. This role involves testing materials, analyzing results,
and working with production teams to maintain consistency and compliance with project specifications,
regulations, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine sampling and testing of raw materials and fresh and hardened concrete according to ASTM, ACI, and DOT specifications.
  • Monitor and adjust mix designs to meet quality requirements and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, mix adjustments, and compliance documentation.
  • Perform on-site inspections at batch plants and project locations to ensure quality control procedures are followed.
  • Prepare and submit mix design submittals for projects
  • Work closely with plant operators and production teams to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production problems and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and industry best practices to promote a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams regarding mix performance and quality concerns.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, new testing methods, and changes in quality regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus
  • Experience in concrete production, quality control, or construction materials testing preferred.
  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and DOT specifications and testing methods.
  • Ability to operate and maintain concrete testing equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
