It’s that time of year again where we begin collecting market data from the ready mixed concrete consumed in Ohio. As the first quarter of 2008 is drawing to a close, many of you have probably been looking back to see how you fared in 2007. ORMCA is now in its fourth year of collecting the industry data and we are beginning to collect some meaningful data and see some trends developing. As reported in the August 2007 issue of Concrete Connection, approximately one third of the concrete production in Ohio was reported. That’s a great start, but we would like to see that number greatly increase this year.

In an effort to get the information out as quickly as possible, we will compile and release the market summary quickly. We are asking for your market survey estimates no later than May 1, 2008. We will then compile the information and get it out to the membership in the June newsletter. Please take the time to complete the survey; it is a great tool in developing promotion strategies and benchmarking particular market segments.

As always, the surveys are kept confidential and individual company information is NOT released to anyone. The only information that is released is the summarized data, as shown in this newsletter.
