Lobbying for reasonable legislation and regulation is the single most important reason for existence of the Ohio Ready Mixed Concrete Association.

Formed in 1938 to combat unfair taxing of truck mixer drums and accessory weights, ORMCA has a five person lobbying team with combined experience in the concrete industry of over 120 years.

ORMCA offers legislative and regulatory support to members for compliance with new government regulations including ::

Proper use and handling of regulatory forms

Key people to contact concerning member problems

Effect of new laws and regulations on the ready mix industry

bullet

Advance knowledge of new laws and preparation for regulatory changes

ORMCA maintains a liaison relationship with governmental agencies through support and assistance to members having compliance problems with various governmental agencies including OSHA, EPA, PUCO, ODOT, Highway Patrol, Department of Taxation and Department of Commerce

An Annual meeting of ODOT’s District Engineers of Test and Construction Engineers

Belonging to various committees ie: ORMCA’s Technical Committee, ODOT Specifications Committee, County Engineers Association, ASTM, ODOT Industry Coordinating Committee, OEPA Committees

Other interactions between ODOT, ODNR, and Department of Administrative Services, Division of Public Works and Ohio Turnpike Commission to name a few
