Cement BURNS

Exposure to wet concrete can lead to serious injuries.  Working with concrete without  use of the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) can damage lead to "cement burns".  Cement burns range from minor redness or irritation to serious chemical burns.

Here are some suggested PPE for placing and finishing concrete

  • Long sleeves and pants
  • Protective goggles
  • Hardhat
  • Chemical resistant gloves

  • Protective over-boots
  • knee pads
  • knee boards

Be sure to wash wet concrete immediately from your skin and clothing after contact to avoid cement burns.

We have put together some items that will aid in educating your employees and customers on the dangers of handling wet (unhardened) concrete to avoid severe injuries and to protect your company against potential lawsuits.
