Learn how to identify defects in reinforced concrete structures, accurately determine the extent of necessary repairs and the various types of repair techniques performed to produce durable, long-lasting results.

This seminar will benefit anyone responsible for the maintenance and repair of concrete structures including owners, engineers, architects, government (State, County, City) officials/workers and contractors.

The seminar will cover, in-depth, reinforced concrete repairs and include case studies on bridges, parking garages, buildings, water and sewage treatment facilities and more!

Seminar topics will include:

• Discussion of various types of structures
• Recognizing need for repair
• Determining what caused the deterioration
• Corrosion process
• Evaluating extent of deterioration
• Quantifying area and depth of repair
• Removal techniques (including hydrodemolition)
• Preparation of area to be repaired
• Placement of repair material
• Preventing further damage
• Special repair techniques (including shotcrete and pre-placed aggregate)

Participants will receive various commonly used specifications, materials lists and a 292 page reference book entitled, "Concrete Repair and Maintenance Illustrated," by Peter H. Emmons, which can be used to assist virtually any kind of concrete repair.

The seminar will be held in the ORMCA office building’s 1st floor conference room, located at 2600 Corporate Exchange Dr., Columbus, OH 43231, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
