ORMCA will
host a Free Open House & Demo of the Pomeroy Mason Bridge on
May 30, 2008 at the Wild Horse Cafe in Pomeroy, OH.
The Pomeroy/Mason Bridge over the Ohio River, is ODOT’s
latest cable stayed bridge and is especially interesting
because the superstructure/deck over the river is
cast-in-place concrete using specially designed form
travelers, which are cantilevered out and supported by
the previously placed deck section.
The 1,853’ long all-concrete cable stayed bridge
carrying SR 833 over the Ohio River between Pomeroy, OH
and Mason, WV is continuing to make progress. We
anticipate seeing a section being cast on the day of
Demo, but if not, there will still be plenty to see. A
great vantage point will be from the walkway of the
adjacent existing Pomeroy-Mason Bridge. Depending on
work activities, we will also be able to walk out on the
currently completed sections of the new bridge.
