The Future of Concrete

Concrete is an ancient building material. Modern society has been using concrete for as long as the Roman’s ad at the time of the birth of Christ – and they continued another 4 centuries beyond that time! There are a number of forces which are impacting the future of modern concrete – admixtures, binder technology, changes in analysis methods, in economics and expectations and in materials science that will change the nature of this material that is synonymous with modern society itself.

Join Kevin MacDonald as he reviews the past, present and future of concrete and addresses the question "what will they think of next?’ at the 2012 Concrete Futures Winter meeting.
